Atlantic White-sided Stranded Dolphins Rescued

16 Atlantic White-sided Stranded Dolphins Rescued

Late this afternoon MARS received a report of numerous dolphins which had, moments before, became stranded on a mudflat in Digby, NS as the tide quickly dropped.
With limited daylight remaining, MARS personnel were not able to get onsite, however, but they were able to enlist the help of local Fisheries and Oceans Canada fisheries officers and members of the Digby Fire department and local members of the community to assist the animals – 16 Atlantic white-sided dolphins!
An incredible effort to save these animals and everyone is hopeful they will head out on the rising tide and make their way safely back out to sea.
